Cantina Pileum was born from a shared vision: to enhance Cesanese in its land of origin, bringing together tradition, technology, and sustainability.The winery, built in the heart of the vineyards in the Casalotto district of Piglio, was designed with careful attention to the landscape and to the most respectful winemaking practices. The vinification facility, constructed between 2012 and 2013 behind the historic farmhouse, is partially underground to allow gravity-flow processing and to reduce visual and environmental impact.The green roof, integrated with photovoltaic panels, along with low-energy refrigeration systems, makes the winery a tangible example of sustainability. Our Restaurant, overlooking the vineyards and the winery, is a meeting place for those who produce and those who wish to discover. Here, wine tells its story in its natural environment, within a space designed to protect, enhance, and share its identity.

Starting in 2002 with just 2 hectares of vineyards, Pileum now cultivates 18 hectares in the municipality of Piglio. The winery has achieved steady, consistent growth, investing in new vineyard plantings, replanting projects, and state-of-the-art winemaking equipment. Every step has been guided by a clear vision: to produce quality wines that speak the language of their land. Annual production ranges between 65,000 and 90,000 bottles of organic wine, confirming a constant commitment to sustainable agricultural practices. Pileum operates as a fully integrated estate, overseeing every stage from vineyard to bottle, combining technical expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and deep local roots — strengthened over time by a dedicated and highly qualified team. Winery, hospitality and experience
Pileum is much more than a production site: it is a vibrant center of hospitality, storytelling, and wine culture. The stone farmhouse, carefully restored in 2011, now hosts the wine shop and tasting room, where wine tours, guided experiences, and public events regularly take place. Since 2022, the estate has expanded to include a Restaurant that, on weekends, offers dishes inspired by local tradition, thoughtfully paired with our wines. This integrated offering — vineyard, winery, retail, tasting, and dining — is the beating heart of Pileum’s wine tourism experience: a privileged gateway to discovering Cesanese and its many nuances. The approach is authentic, welcoming, and professional at the same time. We greet every guest with the desire to share not only our wine, but also the landscape, the history, and the people who bring it to life.
